I was lazy in the snow. didn't wiper off the snow the wipers brushed the snow off the window but couldn't come all the way down. I guess I didn't turn them off. Now my wipers don work. it blew the fuse, repaced that and they still don't work. what will a new wiper motor cost any other ideas?

New rebuilt wiper motors are not expensive. Go to NAPA, or in Canada, Canadian Tire. Depending on the year of your truck, you may have to get a different wiring harness.

Wiper Motor

I had a problem with my wiper motor in November. I went to the dealer to get one and found out I had to buy the motor assembly which had the motor and the associated mechincal parts with it. It cost $125. It did fix all of my problems.

Well I dont have much to comment on this subject, just a funny story and a tip if the wipers go out when your driving. I was driving along at night in a very hard rain when my wipers went out in my old tahoe. I was blocked in by 2 semi's and had to drive a couple of hundred yards with my head out the window in order to see ANYTHING!! The rain stung like helk, but thats all I could do in order to see. When I could finally pull over, I played w/ the wipers and motor, but no luck, they still wouldnt work properly; they would go down the windshiedl, but wouldnt come back up w/out a little help. I was about 40 miles from any town and had an idea. I told my buddy to take off his shoe and hand it to me. I pulled out his shoe lace and tied it to the driver side wiper and had the loose end inside the cab via the window. I had to pull the wipers for 40 miles through pouring down rain. It was terrible, but it worked. Just a tip incase it ever happens to any of yall.

(P.S.--I always keep a bottle of Rain-X with me at all times!!!)

Have fun laughing at the picture of me doing that in your mind!!
