Re:What's your CTD used for?

I would swear we live in the same neighborhood! I know exactly what you mean. I enjoy doing the oil changes, exhaust work, brakes, ect. I find it relaxing, there is nothing better then oil day, I love it. Well, I'll take that back. I really like package delivery day!!!! I had bought a 2000 ford ranger new, and had plans for it, and was going to let my son drive it when he turned 16. Well it sat in the drive for alittle over a year, and I never used it(less then 2000 miles). Come spring of 2001 I put it up on jack stands, took off all the front end to the frame, removed the rear end. Everyone had a fit that I completely tore apart a new truck, they got upset. Well I put 4.56 gears and a locker in the rear end. And up front all new springs a-arms, spindels, ect. Truck turned out nice, 10 1/2" of total lift, 32x11.50x15's, ect. Now they just don't come by. Thats wonderful

We must be related. I had an '86 Ranger with a 9" lift and 35X12.5 BFG's underneath. I loved that truck and wish I still had it (with my CTD, can't give that up).

Lets see Dailey driver, about 300 a day. Haul Pigs,Horses,Sheep and the occasional heavy equipment that is being pull by a Power Puke broke down on the road.
I-80 across Iowa for some reason sure eats those Fords up.

Re:What's your CTD used for?

Although my original excuse for buying my CTD was to haul the boat I was thinking of getting, I decided not to get the boat. But, the need for a bigger bed for hauling bulky materials for work was the clincher that gave me every reason I needed to jump for it.

It's main function is as a go everywhere daily driver, toy hauler and long distance tripper. Plus, with all the women driving their import pickups with their "Alaska Girls Kick *ss", "A Woman and Her Truck is Beautiful to Behold" signs and their gunracks in the back window, a guy has to keep one step ahead of them.
