What do you think? Powder coat? Or chrome?
So my buddy has an aliarc bumper on his 01, and doesnt like it. But he took a wire wheel to it and then painted it black. Wants too trade me for my stock one.
Is it possible too powder coat aluminum? I'm thinking a bright silver, or match it too my truck. Or chrome it? I don't know if aluminum can be chromed though...

I believe the powder attaches to the surface to be coated thru magnetism, but I may be wrong.
Aluminum takes a great shine when polished. You can get the rouges in the grits you would need at a good hardware store.

Powercoat would work no problem. The powder in its inital state attaches by a static charge so no problem with aluminum.
I would not do chrome. GM had a rash of problems with chrome plated al bumpers and they all went to he!! in a handbasket in a relative short time up here in the north. Even not being exposed to the salt they would peel. Also is going to cost you a pretty penny compared to powdercoating or paint.

I have an Ali Arc also and live in a very salty climate and roads , I was just considering doing something with my bumper also . Once the polished alum starts to get pitted it wont polish to a nice shine like when new anymore , I was thinking on chrome also If it would work. I think it looks best .
