Using Jack Stands Under the Beast

I'm getting ready to install Dyna Beads in the tires on my truck. I have never jacked the truck up and put jack stands under it. My Dodge shop manual shows the placement of lifts, floor jacks etc. The picture for using jack stands is confusing to me, so I thought that I would ask the experts where they put jack stands when they use them. So that you don't think that I'm totally stupid, I would think that you could place a jack stand in the same location as you would a floor jack. I'm only going to do one side of the truck at a time and most likely I will keep the floor jack in place as well as using a jack stand. I have a Lincoln 2.5 ton floor jack and some heavy duty rated stands that go up to 24 inches in height I believe. The tires on my truck are 265x16's. Anyone have any thoughts and/or recommendations on this? As a side note, I've been lifting weights trying to get myself prepared for this. In my old age I seemed to have gotten thinner and weaker.

Since you only need to get the weight off the tires, not remove them to install beads, and you don't need to go under the truck while doing it I wouldn't even mess with jackstands. When I installed beads I put my jack on the frame about at the front of the door and jacked one whole side at a time.

I want to hear about how these things work out. This is the first I have heard of them, and I am intrigued. I'd sure like to have the led weights off my aluminum wheels.
I'd like to know how they do at 100 mph, if you get a chance.

Thanks,
Chris

If you try a search I'm sure you will find at least a few threads on the beads and how they work. It's been done a couple of times.

They helped my out of balance wheels a lot, no more bother of losing weights. If they go flying off now then good riddance.

I've been using balance beads for several years on all the vehicles I own and maintain. Excellent product, I'll never go back the antiquated lead weight spin balance method.
