Is there a benefit to using the SS '03 track bar conversion also?

I would like to but an oversized cover on my front differential.

The main benefit for me to go with the 03 track bar was safety inspection. I was warned by some of my close business partners that if the DOT stops me and sees and aftermarket device mounted on an existing trac bar they could have me canned. But if I have a full replacement device such as a lift or replacement bar I am OK.

It doesn't make much sense, but they don't want any modifications to an OEM engineered product (ball joint). But if you replace it with something else thats OK. So on the advise of those people I went with the 03TBK. My truck is used for commercial service and I don't need the hassle.

THe 03TBK will be your last install on the track bar. Getting rid of that stupid ball joint only makes sense to me instead of fiddling with it to make it better. Obviously DC felt the same way. If you get this kit and install it, your worries will be over.

Great Product!!!!

Would a worn track bar cause a squeaking noise from the front end when turning over 10mph?Especially at hwy speeds coming onto a off ramp its really noticable. My just upgrade to the 03 kit just because my truck has high miles.

a worn track bar will make the truck wander and handle like crap, the sqeal could be the brakes or a wheel bearing.....

Correct site/supplier

Hey guys read this. www.solidsteel.biz is DARIN's site. Marv stole Darin's design and is operating at www.solidsteel.ca. Darin is the original designer of the DSS and TBK. www.solidsteel.biz/Darin is the supplier to RIP, PDR etc.

Read TDR Thread here

Quote:
"Hi guys.
Just to clarify the solidsteel question, I own and operate the original Solid Steel Industries LTD. Marv used to work for me, but since has quit, stolen my design and ideas and started up on his own.
I am the original designer and manufacturer of the "Darin's Steering Stabilizer" and "Darin's Track Bar Kit". (DSS & TBK)
Marv had pulled a couple dirty deals behind my back, hence the solidsteel name he is using.
The legitimate Solid Steel is at www.solidsteel.biz
I stand behind all the dealers that handle my products and continue to offer the no questions asked, full refund policy.
Darin"

RussellT and PHOX, I put the whole system on my '01 with a 4'' lift and it all bolted right in. Had to use a drift and some muscle to line up the top hole on the trac-bar. did you have the same problem? Also it seems like it pushed the left side out to stretch it in. Figured it was just taking out the slop, sound right.

Easier way is to have someone turn the steering wheel.
With the tires on the ground one end of the bar can be moved several inches easily.

Contacted Darin at Solid Steel, nice guy. Explained to him about the lift with new 03 trac-bar. Not a problem so those of you who want to put them on your lifted trucks go for it. Should not be a problem up to 4.5 inches. Ran my truck through the ringers and not a problem found.

I knew Darin and his partner parted ways quite a while back but did not know that Marv is marketing the same product and claiming it as his own. I bought the DSS from Darin through Pier's and am happy with the product and the supplier.

All I can say is "BLACKLIST" if you want to make a difference.

The adjustable trackbar looks to be a great improvement over the standard '03 TB. I was curious how much the axle would be off center with my D25's and now I don't care. I know what I'll spend my mad money on next.

I have Lukes Links on the tie-rods and track bar and have had Moog trackbars on two different 2500's, the LL is not the be all end all for TB's. I just rebuilt mine 4 months ago and it's loose again. The truck is ALL OVER the road. The tie-rods are holding up quite well.

As said already and worth repeating again, the dingleberry's at DC should have never put the ball-stud design on the track bar in the current configuration. It's not adequate for the side load.
