Track Bar
I am trying to help a buddy with a 97 3500 dually that has a track bar problem. He has replaced all the parts in the front end and the track bar keeps going bad he has been through 4 in a year. What is the best way to fix the problem? Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing these are "parts store" track bars, right? IMO the best fix is to buy a good quality track bar from Thuren Fabrication. Plan on waiting about two weeks plus shipping time. The guy stays busy!

I like thurens as well but I have been trouble free the dt-pro fabs adjustable trac bar... plus its purty.... bottom line get one that is built and rebuildable and adjustable... you should see the size comparison from a parts store compared to aftermarket...

If price is a consideration these work way better than a parts store bar.

X4 on the Thuren bar! Mine made it about 60,000 miles before needing a rebuild. I didn't even notice the play in it but the guy that was aligning the truck did! Cost me about $90 in parts and a couple hours to rebuild. They do however seems to work best on leveled trucks, you might run into clearance issues if your still stock. Good luck!

I saw one somewhere that has a bushing on both ends and it comes with a new frame bracket. Are these any good? Also whats the deal with the 3rd gen bar i see some guys use them what do you need to do that and does it last?

If you are going to keep the 2nd gen style track bar use a luke's link. I personally don't think the Thuren bar is worth spending money on because it still has the same poor design as factory but is a higher quality piece. My personal favorite is to go to the 3rd gen style, this is the one with the new frame bracket. The 3rd gen is a better design than the 2nd gen.
