Re:tow hooks
I thought so, but I was wondering if there was a frame mounted hook that might be more convinient in some offroad extraction situtations. I'm also interested to know if the DC hooks are the best, or if there are after market ones that might be better.

Re:tow hooks
The DC hook is a good hook. In my opinion you should pull from the hitch to be sure that you are pulling using both frame rails. You could mount the hook to the rail, or weld a hook to your hitch for pulling things that would not put to much stress on the hook itself.

Re:tow hooks
ok, good comments. sounds like a pair of hooks in the front, and a receiver-hitch mounted shackle is a good plan. Will such a shackle accomodate a 3" recovery strap with looped ends?

concensus seems to be that the DC hooks are the best way to go. thanks guys. --Doug
