Tire Weights Are Rubbing?
I have a 1998.5 2WD with 3rd gen factory alloys (2007)
On the front wheels, I thought that I didn't have any clearance issues but I discovered that the inner tire weights rub on something when I lock the wheel hard over to either right or left.
I can't seem to figure out what the weights rub against while checking solo.
I'm planning on grinding the part that's rubbing or use some thin wheel spacers to get the needed clearance.
Grinding is preferred over the spacer as long as it doesn't weaken the component.
Can anyone tell me where it's rubbing and can I grind it without compromising the strength of that part?
Thanks in advanced

Just a plain ole guy
Looks like it would be that tab for the shockmounint nut sticking out under the shock. Bend it out of the way and see if that's it. You probably need a rebalance as the weights have changed.

I swear by these, use on all of my onroad vehicles.
They will solve your problem plus you'll never have to balance your tires again.

You know, it probably would if I didn't have any weights on the rim to get in the way.
Anyways, I found that the lower shock bolt (hex head) is the culprit. I think I'm going to put some 3/16" spacers behind the rim to get the needed clearance.
That balancing product looks interesting though, just not right now.
