Tire Recommendations
Ok, I'm gonna open the hornet's nest here and see what you guys recommend for good tire replacements. I need a new set of skins soon. I'm looking for a good street tire. Nothing aggressive. Something that will last some miles. Maybe 1 size over. 265 75 16's if it makes sense. This is a 2wd camper puller. And I don't want to drop $1000 on Michelins! So.. your thoughts? Thanks!

I got 103,000 miles out my OEM Michelins, and if I hadn't been going into winter with them, I would had left them on. I needed a road tire, and that's what I went with again. $845.00 driven away.

I vote no for Yokohama Geolander D rate AT's, felt like driving on marshmallows for the 50 miles I had them on. Now have some Dominator AT E rate tires, not the best but haul our 7k TT just fine.

I will vote for the Bridgestone Dueler REVO's. On my second set now. First set went about 52k. Still had some tread left but winter was here so I went ahead and got some new ones. Second set has 54k on them and they look like they will last another 5k or so. They have unbelievable dry and wet traction. Absolutely great in the snow. They are also very good offroad. The arent so great in the mud though. The have the 265 in "E". I picked them up at Costco (well they had to order them) mounted, balanced, free rotations, new valve stems, road hazard and taxes for under 8 bills.

On budget?
Dont laugh, I know I was, I bought the wally word liberators in a 285 size for 425 out the door, and so far 25K miles later still have half thread or better left on them. I rotate them like crazy (every other oil change) and keep up on their air pressure every week. I have towed with them no problems either. So far I cannot complain, and i can honestly say, they have better traction in the mud and sand than my previous BFG all terrains did....
Just my two pennys

I have the 235/85s and they were right at $400 out the door with rotation and road hazard !

what is a good tire size to fill up the fender well. I have 245/75/r16 on now but am looking for a taller tire. Doesn't have to be wider but something to fill up my fender well.

I have Michelin 265/75/16's on my '99. Stock were 245's. Got 48,000 on first set,prolly had another 5k but winter was fast approaching. If you do a lot of hwy,the michelins are excellent. I paid 150.00 apiece for mine.Thats only 600.00 where do you come up with a grand?

4:10's with 285/75/R16
Cooper's,,,,, I have 30000 miles on them they still look new.Rotate them every oil change (if possible) Synthetic oil.
It was the perfect change for my truck with the 4:10's with 245/75/R16 and I do alot of highway driving, Engine used to be above 2600 RPM all the time at 75 MPH,, Now with the 285/75/R16 I cruise at around 2100 RPM at 75 MPH now, Much Better.. I will go with a little bigger next time.

I have 285's and a small 2.5 inch lift kit on my truck. it works really well and im certain i can fit 305's easy

I have the BFG commercials on my '99. They where $50 a tire cheaper. Load range E and a great looking highway tread.
DO NOT BUY THEM
They do not hold the road. I flat spotted them on the front axle. Rotated them and ended up doing the same thing again. They'll lock with a medium pressure on the pedal. Today, it sprikled on the way in to work and the tires where spinning at 6 PSI MAP at 50 MPH. I really want to get them off when I get the money.
