Tire choices??
Almost time for new tires again, I have narrowed the field to 3 choices.
First, the Toyo M-55
Second, The Cooper Discoverer LT
Third, The Cooper Discoverer ST
All are 10 ply Size LT235/85/16
The truck is a work truck, equipment hauler, snow plow rig.
Road noise does not bother me, just looking for the tire I'm going to get the most wear out of.
Which would you go with?

The tires that i have had good luck for tread life is a Hankook RT01. Thats basically the same tread as a BF mud terrain. I run a 235/85R16 10ply. I have about 25,000 miles on them and they are about at 80% tread left. They are a little noisey but that doesent bother me any. I drive 90% gravel roads all the time and these i found are the ones that last the longest for the money.

I also have the Hancook (don't know which ones but they are street) and I have about 34,000 on em right now and figure I can get another 16,000. So far they have been good except they pull to the right ever so slightly (could be the truck though).

I have Toyo M55's on my 3500. The M55's seem to last a longer if your hauling heavy than most other tires. They also have a HD sidewall and don't flex like most other tires. IMO The only other tire in it's class is the Michelin XPS.
Toyo also makes a AT, but they last about 1/2 as long as the M55's .

I just put 6 each Michelin XPS Ribs on my truck. If I ran off-road, I would have looked at the XPS Tractions. These are an all-steel-construction, commercially-rated tire that gives exceptional tread life, strength and durability, although at a premium price.

I narrowed my choices to the Toyo M55 and the Cooper STs also. I went with the STs like them so far, very stable, but don't have many miles on them. Size I bought are 265R75/16.

I have 3 friends that have worn out 6 sets of Cooper S/Ts, none lasted less than 50k. Two 4 door duallys, and a 4 door Superduty. All 4x4, all tow.
I put a set on my 99, they were nice the few days I had them.
