I simply pulled the plastic from under the steering wheel, unplugged the wire from the key switch*, and reinstalled the plastic. No more 'key-in-ignition' buzzer, besides the push the pin in didn't work for me.
* the harness has 2 wires, and will come out straight down. As soon as you remove the lower plastic shield, you will see the wire/harness.

At least on the '01 you can take the cover off the steering column and unplug the two-wire harness on the ignition (lt. blue wires). That kills the key-in-ignition warning, but keeps the all the other chimes. Worked for me...just gotta get the column cover off

I got very annoyed by the dinger too and located the miserable thing one saturday afternoon and filled the speaker up with good ol silicone glue. Now it is a good dinger . If I listen real close I can still hear it after I shut it down.

Hemi cat that is exactly what I did excipt that I used Sika Flex. Don't know why anyone would want a door noise maker anyway. Have to be daft not to notice that the door is open.Maybe there are the ones that have the door taken off by a vehicle driving by.

i pulled the module apart and put rtv silicone in the buzzer/speaker and let dry, then folded up a small piece of paper towel, put over the buzzer and put it back together. worked pretty good, could barely here it at all.

On my '95 I just popped open the dinger box and removed a quarter size disk. Took about 30 seconds, no more ding.

the first thing I do with ANY vehicle I purchase is disable the door buzzer... either by unplugging the actual speaker, destroying the speaker, etc.
who needs to be constantly reminded that their door is open?!?!?
