When I broken mine on my 2000, I went to the dealer. I called junk yards around in CO for about a month and no one had any. And I do not recall it being above $20 bucks at the dealer but I am not for sure.

I went to the dealer also for my 2001 and they gave me the whole holder. I think it was under 25 dollars and just snaps in. That was the second time mine has broke.

2 metal tabs hold the hing together. Open the hatch all the way so that it is perpendicular with the ground. Gently relieve pressure from the hing by lifting on the spring steel clip (rests against the hinge and makes a cam effect). While holding the clip off the hinge pull it back. Does not take too much force, comes out pretty easily.
I too have had to replace mine twice (every 2 years). Its very poorly engineered.

I couldn't find one in my area so with some JB Weld and a piece of copper flashing I made my own tab. Every POS piece of plastic in my cab is cracking, beaking or falling off. I'm seriously thinking about getting out the saw and some tropical hardwood and redoing the whole inside

Drill a small hole where the broken tab was and screw in a short self tapping screw just far enough to keep the door closed. Mine's been fixed that way 4 years now. I got tired of buying new sunglass doors.

Or,
If you still have the tab, superglue it back on (wait) and run a bead of silicone down in the crease. It works. I learned it here. The super glue by it self will obviously snap right off again, but with the silicone back there it gives it some cushion to flex, but not enough room to snap off again.

That's funny you should offer this suggestion. I tried the caulk and it did not work out. I was going to use caulk on the brand new one to add some strength. I think I'm going to try the super glue and caulk (1 - 2 punch), I never thought of that .
Thanks

I didn't think of it either, I can't remeber who did now. One of the old timers here, Infidel maybe?
