Tried to put the system in last night and it went okay until I went to put in the tailpipe.

The tailpipe has 2 hangers welded onto the pipe and that is the problem I have. I dont have any hangers on the truck in that spot to hang it. I looked all over for a bracket or some kind of holes where an OEM bracket used to be....I didn't see any.

I'm thinking that maybe these hangers are for a newer truck.....say a 98-01 24valve????

I just have the downpipe installed since I cant properly hang the tailpipe and it's really loud......sounds good but I'm sure the neighbors hate it.

my 2001 had a hanger in the rear after the axle for the tail pipe
as far as the older models im not sure.

I had the same problem with my truck. That hanger is for the 98 and up trucks. You can get a hanger for your truck from mbrp for that position or just rig something up.

Man....sure would be nice if summit would put this info in the directions.

i have a 96 and when i got my exhaust i had to order a hanger bracket to bolt on to the frame so that the hangers on the pipe had something to hang on. it looks like this, required on 94-98.5 12-valve.

i ordered an MBRP off XD.com so it had an option to add it in the kit but i guess summit doesnt have that set up.

its a pain to drill the holes in the frame just for a hanger so i just ended up clamping it on with a small C clamp.
