that stupid 1693 code MAKE IT GO AWAY!
Ok so I know it is a companion code but I believe it is now time to go bye bye, today I installed new jammer 2s and had the batterys unhooked for at least an hour and a half hit the key touched the cables together even called it some bad names for good measure but the wretched thing lives! I would love to hear how to make it go away without using any explosives.
thanks

When I hooked up my Comp I got the dreaded CEL.
I unhooked the batteries, No Joy.
I touched the (unhooked) battery terminals together, No Joy.
I unhooked the terminals, then held the key in the start position for 30 seconds, No Joy.
I gave up for the night, and hooked everything back up & planned on letting the dealer clear the code the next day.
I started the truck about an hour later to go to the store, NO CEL.........go figure.

They also need to erase the codes in the ECM & PCM.
This code is supposed to let you know to look at the other control monitor for "companion codes".

Yes, the proper scanner does have the ability to communicate with all the control modules that can set a DTC directly - none of it gets washed through the PCM first like when a code reader or the odometer display is used. The 1693 is there for a reason and cannot simply show up by itself.....there has to be another DTC present to set it off that is not retrievable without a scanner.

I was using my brothers OBD11 scanner and it found all codes and erased them. That seems strange the code keeps coming back and you can't find any others I had a 1693 and an 0234,( which is over boost) once when my connection on my EZ was loose. I scanned and cleared the codes. I had some warrenty work done and asked them to see if the computers were holding any codes and they said no. After all I've said, I don't know how to help you! Good luck

I got that code and my MAP sensor is bad. It doesn't seem to be hurting my fuel mileage so I haven't replaced, another reason I haven't replaced it is because tts $164 for the MAP sensor, cause you have to get it from Dodge.

If I use a generic OBD2 scanner, I get a 0602 (Catcher) but no 1693. If I do on/off on/off on/off I get 1693. Do I need to have the dealer look into what is causing the 1693?

The PCM just can't talk to the ECM very well, moreso with the Catcher.
99% sure it's just the companion code to the 0602.
