Strange thing happened today
Strange thing happened today im sitting at a stop light I look over and on my dash near the passenger air bag is a spider. Not very big only about the size of a quarter. So here I am at a stop light what do I do I grab the only thing in my truck long enough to hit it the ice scraper well as im grabbing it the dang thing went into my defrost vent so there I am with my defrost on high. Long story short the spider didn’t come out and I noticed my dash is cracked
So two questions
First how do you kill spiders hiding in your truck
Second how do I keep the crack from getting bigger.

Some of that plastic protectant might help but these dashes suck and there usually isn't much you can do. I don't have spider problems around here, apparently they don't like the smell of diesel

Can't help you on the spider but I put silicone on the cracks which held them together and kept them from rattling.
On second thought, you might want to release a few Gecko lizards and I'm sure they will search and destroy the spiders.

Just a plain ole guy
Once they start cracking there's no way to stop it. You can put a cap onit, but they never fit right, and one day it will fall to the floor as there willbe no dash left for it to sit on. Benn thru this allready. Don't let anyone tell you the replacement dash is $800 or so. I got mine from the dealer for $169. Search on the site. There's been how to replace topics posted many times, including keep your vin off of your old dash and reinstall it ontot he new dash before installing the new dash. It'll take about 4 hours to replace. It's not as big of a deal as you might think.
Also, go ahead and replace the heater core and ac evaportator. These are items in a Dodge truck that either have failed or are going to fail. No other way around it. Youmight as well do it when you have easy access.

If you'd quit hitting the dash w/the ice scrapper I'm sure it would quit cracking.![Laughing](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/laughing.gif)
Or
you could set off one of those "foggers" inside the truck. I'm sure that would kill everything know to man living in there.

I tried with the defrost on high. It didn’t help im thinking on the next hot day ill turn the defrost on high with heat and the windows closed and let it sit for a few minuets that should drive him outa there.
As for the dash I guess ill do my best to keep from laying anything on it and making it crack more?
Geckos and then to get rid of them how about a few snakes oh then a mongoose oh then a wolf then a bear yeah this could work.
