Not to change the subject but I must comment on this. The u-joints that cannot be lubed are much better than the greasable ones. Reason is the greasable have ONE seal blocking out foreign material. Non-greasable has THREE seals to keep out junk and keep grease in. Put a good quality synthetic grease in non-greasable u-joints before installing them and they will out last greasable.
Now back to the topic. ;D
[/quote]the non greaseable ujoints are also stronger if you need the extra strength
I put back ones that can be lubed. The ones I took off could not be lubed.

I'd say mine also sounds like a turkey --that's a good description. broken weld? that's certainly not what I expected to hear.

Re:Strange cab noise
Katoom i think that a broken weld could make that sound but that is definetly nothing i thought of. I wish I knew where to look. But at least now i have something to look for. before i was just trying to shake things to see if i could imitate the sound. Thanks for the insite.

Did you ever figure out what was causing the sound? I'm now experiencing this on my truck when I go over a bumpy road and when I come to a stop. The turkey gobble sound, that is. And yes, the windshield was replaced just before I bought the truck (a few days ago).
