Stock height front end with ride right air bags
Well here is the story:
My truck was stock height with 295/70/17. Looked level and had a nice stance steering was good ride not bad. We bought a 12' camper so I decided to put ride rights on the rear and thought while I'm at it I will put 2.5 Hell Bent spacers in the front, oh I need new tires I can go a bigger size, bigger is better right? So I put 325/70/17 on it with 2.5 spacers in front and ride rights in the rear.
I did all this in September and hate my truck now. Rides ruff, steers bad, wanders down the road just want to run it off a cliff.
So I took a perfectly good truck and messed it up. I'm taking the leveling kit out and putting 285/70/17 on it and keeping the ride rights on for the camper. Which is going to cost me $600 differnce in new tires with the trade in of my 5 month old tires My bookkeeper (Wife) Not real happy with me, keep hearing I told you so.
My question is for those that have stock front height front ends with ride rights on the rear. Does your truck sit fairly level when the bags only have 5 pounds of air in them?
Pictures would be good if you have them.

A stock truck should sit a little higher in the rear. They call it a front 'leveling' kit for a reason-they sit high in the back from the factory so they level out with a load on. Sounds like your rear leaves are a bit worn. 325 is a big tire, prolly does wander a bit, but I think your handling got worse because the leveling kit threw your caster adjustment off. Just went through that with my truck.

Does sound like my springs are worn. I had the truck aligned after the leveling kit and thay said I needed an adjustable ball joint to get it right. The tires are too big. Truck is at Schwabs right now getting 285's on it and leveling kit comes off this weekend.

Much better
Took the spacers out today. Drives much better now and dosen't wander down the road. I have a steering box stablizer coming next week so it should drive even better.

my air bags require 10 lbs to work, less than 10lbs will damage the bags . I would have left the wheels and tires on and put on the steering stabilizer and you would have been happy with the truck. I installed the st on my 95 and I can`t believe the difference it made with my truck.I can now go down the high way steering with my arm on the arm rest and two fingers on the wheel. I was always chasing the truck before and now its great.I tow so I use 285 /75/16 Michelin e rated and the steering box stabilizer was the best mod so far for this truck .

I put the steering stablizer on and it makes a big differance. I'm running 10# air in the bags. I'm really glad I pulled the spacers out and went with the 285Drives really nice now.
