I've heard of a couple trucks cracking their frame at the steering box. I say get it done now.

Putting one in will only help , steering box in any condition .
If the box is bad it will tighten it up .
If a new box , it will not go bad .
Then it also gives more more support to steering box & frame , I have seen broken frames , at the box .

I consider the steering stabilizer something that should have come stock on the truck.
If you plan on keeping your truck for long you're money and headaches ahead to install the brace.
