Steering box leak out of weep hole?
Well I've had a leak in the power steering box somewhere for a few months now. It was hard to tell where it was coming from, but today I cleaned everything up to narrow down where the leak is. Started it up, didn't leak until I moved the steering wheel around, then it started it's slow pour down the front of the box. I popped a mirror up there, and found a weep hole in the top of the box about an 1/8th of an inch in diameter at the front, above the large plug on the front of the box. Is this supposed to be plugged up? If so, what's the best way to plug it? I was gonna mash some lead in there or something and then JB weld over it. I can't tell if it's threaded, doesn't appear to be though. If it's really as easy as threading something into it I'll be real upset for not looking at it till now. Thanks for any help.

I should have mentioned it's a reman box, changed about 2 years ago. It's got some play in it (no shaft play, just gear play) that I'll tighten up when I figure out what to do. I'd rather not dump another 200 into it if all I need is to plug up the hole or replace a seal inside.

cant say I have ever seen a weep hole on a steering box
can you post a picture? this would help diagnoise
when you tighten the box do the bearing pre-load FIRST before you touch the overcenter adjustment (allen key bolt).

Batteries are dead on the camera, I'll try to snap a picture later. It's a weird place, and I'd think that it being open would just let water in. It's on top, front of the box.
Thanks for the reminder on tightening, I have a link saved somewhere that describes the right way to do it with the spanner wrench type adjustment first.

Camera is broken, but I found a 10-32 screw threaded in like it was meant to be there so I'll see if it works. Also found it leaking a bit while not running, so I'm guessing there's supposed to be something there.
