SRW wheels on DRW

I have moved to the mountains and want to run single rear wheels with snow tires in the winter, the DRW does poorly on ice and snow. I have been told that using the wheels off of a srw in the rear would eliminate the offset and allow the rear to track with the front instead of being either wider or narrower. Is this information correct? Will the SRW rim mount onto my rear axel without any modifications? Would I use the same lugnuts or are they different? I was also told that the wheels on the 2500 and 3500 SRW are the same?? Any help would be appreciated, winter in Leadville is comming soon.

I'm no help but I went through Leadville about 10 years ago with my '67 W200. It wouldn't run very well and I couldn't figure out why until I saw the sign that said Proud to Live in Leadville, CO, Elevation 10,200' (I think). You guys are way up in the air!

You will need the nuts to go with the wheels. The SRW use acorn style nuts (tapered seat), and the dually's use the washered nuts .

Thanks for the input. I bought wheels off of a 2002, they were listed as being the stock wheel for either a 2500 or 3500 SRW. I also bought a set of lug nuts for the wheels. It lines up exactly with the front wheels. The front still has the wheels with the dually offset. It does look odd to have the dually fenders on a single rear wheel setup but I am sure that it will better on the ice and snow for the winter. We bought the truck as a tow vehicle for the 5th wheel trailer and have been very happy with it. The dually rear wheels were all over the place on icy roads last winter, I figure on adding 700 or 800# of sand for added traction. I am sure it will be adequate. Again, thanks for the input.
