Shocks? KYB's or Bilstein's
Any preference on the brands of shocks---it's a toss up trying to decide between the KYB's or Bilsteins.
Thanks

i'm very very happy with my KYB's . i tried monroe but they never rode good from the door and after 6 months road really bad. my experience may have been unique.but the KYB's have been great. i do hear good thinkgs about the bilstiens too. i think the kybs are cheaper..

I'm on my second set of Bilsteins. The first set lasted about 125K. I had KYBs on my Regal and switched to the Bil's (**** what an improvement)
For this reason, it was never a question of which brand to use IMO.

I've had both KYB Gas-ajust & Bilsteins on my 2wd. Both are very good, but I preferred the KYB for over all ride quality. I installed the Bilsteins this summer and will run them until it is time for new ones and probably go back to KYB.
I've only read 1 comparison between KYB Mono-Max and Bilsteins. That person reported the Mono-Max is stiffer than Bilstein.

KYB offers three different types for my truck. GR-2, Gas-a-Just, and Mono-Max. How do you know which is the best? I figured they would only offer one type for the 8800 GVW, but noooo, KYB has to give us choices and confuse us.

I don't know about the mono max, but the GR2's are usually softer than the Gas a just, GR2's would be better if you run empty most os the time and the gas a just would work better if you hual alot. However I don't know where the mono max fits in the mix

I don't see where is the confusion, the ask if your truck is above or below 8800gvw, it's not very tough to find out, check your door label.
Anyway I just bought new KYB Monomax for my rear, I'll let you know this weekend how they ride.

order of dampening from less to more
GR-2; Gas-a-Just; Mono-Max.
royta;
Being you run around mostly loaded, the Mono-max is probably your better choice.
There is Tech support on KYB website. Perhaps send in a query with your truck data and find out what they recommend?
