I had a hard time loosen mine so my old man took some self taping screws. Screwed the upper part of the shock in to the lower part where they over lap. Nut came right off.

I use a dremmel everytime I change shocks. Dremmel with the heavy cut-off wheel saves you alot of grief. Put some anti-seize on the new ones

Finally got all 4 installed yesterday. I got an angled nut splitter from Sears (like the picture above; the flat splitter that I had I couldn't get in there and get a wrench on it) and managed to get most of the front driver's side nut off in several pieces before the splitter broke. Air chisel got the rest of that nut.

Good luck finally came my way and the passenger-side front top nut had given way to the 2 weeks of nearly daily Liquid Wrenching and just spun off with a big ViseGrip on the shock shaft.

Except for needing to drop the sway bar and one nut that needed a couple heat cycles, the rears were pretty easy. Glad DC saw fit to put tabbed nuts on the places that getting a wrench to would have been nearly impossible. Pleasant surprise.

Thanks for the suggestions.

And BTW, the OEM Bilsteins ride much, much nicer than the worn out (and one completely shot and leaking) factory shocks. No news there, I guess.

Glad to hear you got it all done..

It sure does make a difference. Just after I bought this truck last year I noticed that the shocks has the little Dodge shield still on them.. No wonder my Soda would be flat in the cup holder...

Its nice to have the smooth ride..

Flat soda?

I'd be happy if my soda would just stay IN the cupholder!
