Rough handling - Shocks?
lately my truck seems to be a little rough. just got it inspected and all the front end parts are nice and tight (replaced most of them last winter). I still have the original shocks on the truck . I'm planning on replacing them this week. any hints?
Oh, just ordered a new 4" exhast from the turbo back, no cat, no muffler. going to install that this week also.
Thanks !

With an open question such as "Shocks?" everyone will chime in with their 2¢ worth of opinions and experience.
Being you have a 4wd and I'm only 2wd (1wd in winter), I'll add my 1¢ worth of comments.
I've had just as much ride problems from bad tires as bad shocks. Get your tires balanced and do replace those stock slop absorbers.
Many options for shocks. My favorites are KYB. Currently running Bilsteins, but IMHO the KYBs are better

i'm also very happy with the KYB's i put monroe magunums on and they lasted about 4 months and never really road good at all, they did ride better then the 240,000mile stockers i pulled off but, after 4 months they were blown out. the KYB's have been on for 6 months now and what a difference.

Most people go with Bilstein or Rancho 9000. Both have lifetime warranty.
I had KYB's a while ago, they had issues, did not last. That problem may be better, do not know.
You can get B or R for about $60 each. Money well spent.

what I want is to go air ride...not to lower the truck...but to make it drive and handle better like my semi tractor
I saw a system that will replace the read and the front...but not for my year and engine and pull...heavy duty 2/4 ton dana 70 rear
I could use the 1 ton version..but have not found the front end for the diesel
if I had a newer version I could...but my 96 seems to be to old...or they pulled the information if it will work with the struck
also found bostrom air ride seats...but being that my wife and I are disabled it would be nice to lower the truck to get in then pressure up to normal height and still able to hook up my fifth wheel and my goose neck
they claim after a few hundred miles ( about 300-400 ) you ride better than a caddy
so anyone know where I might get such a system....I have replaced all my shocks and the whole front end..hoping to get a smother ride...but no help
