thats a good idea with the extension
my 99 has pressed together hub/rotors and i take an impact rated 1/2 - 3/8 adapter, plug it into my 12 point deep 14mm socket and hammer away
using my power steering as a press never really crossed my mind... well it did but i couldnt think of a way to make it work like I wanted to.
I also used aluminum anti-sieze on EVERYTHING, I mean every metal-metal contact is coated with the stuff, it made removal much easier than last time where I pulled the wheel bearings apart trying to get it all apart. they were trash anyway but it would have been nice if they were trashed in one piece.
edit: I need to turn my wheel lock to lock quite a bit to get swing angles and room for tools and whatnot... all of a sudden last night while I was putting it all back together, my power steering resivoir barfed out quite a bit of fluid... any ideas?

Without the pump running fluid returns to the reservoir faster than it can go out.
