roof leaking........

has anyone else ran into this prob...i have a 2001 2500 and when it rains hard i have water leak into the cab of the truck thru the overhead console..the only thing i can figure is it is comming thru the marker lights on the roof...is there a simple fix to this problem??? i was just gonna put some silicone around each light but then its gonna be a pain each time i need to change the bulb...

You could change the lights to LED's, then you wouldn't have to worry about changing them again..

I had the same problem. I would have water dripping from my overhead console when making turns. It also took out the console display. I think I corrected it by installing a small O-ring on the screw heads of the screws holding down the marker lights. I also put some grease on each gasket of the lights. I do not like using silicone as it will make future replacements of the lights difficult.

But, I am sure I just cursed myself saying that I fixed mine. I bet I will get dripped on next time I drive my truck.

I had the problem on the back light in the cab. Heavy rains would create a waterfall down the back window First time I brought it back to the Dodgers, about a year later it happened again. So instead of making it an annual event I pulled the light myself and RTVd a piece of heavy guage plastic sheeting over the opening but smaller then the light, gooping it only on the top and sides. Orings on the screws and it just went right back on. that was 4 yrs ago and no leak.
