Replacing the OD lockout switch
I want to use the space taken up by the cupholders and the OD lockout switch for gauges and a few toggle switches in my '97 automatic.
I pulled the OD lockout switch, and it's a bear. I talked to an electronics geek friend of mine, and we still aren't sure if it can be replaced with a regular toggle switch, or what.
All I want is a small switch for OD lockout. Anybody replaced that one yet?
Any thoughts on replecing it with the one that goes on the end of the shift column? I assume Dodge want too much money for it.
Thanks,
Tackett

Tacket: If your 97 is the same as my 98 it's not a toggle switch but an impulse contact. You should be able to replace it with any pushbutton thingy you like. I don't know whether a permanent connection through this switch would do any harm. Maybe ask Bill K at DTT about it.

AlpineRAM
