Removing Bed
Hey all-
I have a bad fuel sender. The two options being remove the bed, or siphon a lot of fuel, try and find a place to hold it, undo the fittings blind, then drop the tank.. () I think I like the lift the bed idea, but I need to know where exactly it is fastened on.
I see two brackets in each wheel well, each with two nuts. These seem to hold on the bed, but are there any other fasteners that need to be removed?
Thanks!

Aside from the bolts holding the bed on. You will have to deal with the filler neck on the fuel tank and the the wiring harness for the rear lights but they will just unplug from the lights themselves and I think a ground strap right front corner of the bed underneath. I have not done it on this truck but have on others, removing the bed is not bad. I have read that you can just raise the fuel tank side of the bed enough to get to the top of the tank with out having to totally remove it. I actually am going to have to do it myself once it warms up my fuel sender has gone out as well, again. First time dealer warranty.

There are a total of six bed bolts in the frame. Not to sure about the wheel well brackets you are reffering to. They should come up with the bed. Filler neck, light plugs at the rear, ground strap. Just as BarryG said.
I pulled mine off a few months ago. Wasnt too bad. Bed tilt method might be easier next time.

Just remove the the three bolts on the tank side, loosen the three on the other side.
Hoses and electrical and tilt it up. Three people can do it, two to lift and one weak one to wedge a 2x4 in-between the frame and bed to prop it up.
