Regular Bed on a Cab & Chassis 3500

I have a '96 cab and chassis 3500, 60" from back of cab to center of axle. Anyone ever put a regular bed on a cab and chassis? My measurements indicate that the c&c is 3" longer from bed to axle than a regular cab and bed truck. Axle is narrower also, but I can deal trade that off, I just don't know about the length issue.

What is the measurement between your frame rails? I put a flatbed on mine awhile ago and one of the differences between the cab & chassis version and the regular box version was the rail centerline. A regular box truck has the rails approx 38" appart. You are prolly ok with the axle centerline, mine was 58".
