Rear suspension overload spring stops

Rear suspension overload spring stops
I was wondering if anyone has tried removing the stops for the overload springs (the springs that arch upward).Stops are on each end of springs.
I'm looking to smooth the ride out on the pavement. They seem to contact often from the looks of it.When they do contact the suspension travel seems to end right there.
The stops just unbolt with 3 bolts so I can reinstall them easily if needed.
Will this make the suspension too soft leading to handling problems or bottoming out,
damaging something?
Were overload springs an option on 1998 3/4 tons that were added to the original spring set so if I disable them will they be just like a truck without this option?
I tow a boat that weighs around 4500# with tongue weight of 200#'s at most.
Just thinking about it.
Any advice appreciated.Thanks!

The stops aren't the problem its the thick overload leaf on the bottom of the spring pack (they suck). When the truck is loaded or on ruff roads it causes the truck to buck because its not progressive. You can make a mini pack or new spring pack to replace it.
