just checking if anyone else has any trouble with there rear doors. i have a 2002 -2500-xtended cab and the rear passenger door will not unlatch on the bottom, it does unlatch on the top, just checking to see if theres a way to get at that bottom latch and get it open. hoping theres still hope,NOMAD.

 

If you find the answer let me know, both of my rear doors won't open.

I'm going to mount a load spreader inside between the doors (the kind that they use in trailers) to put pressure on the latches, tape the door latch in the open position, then attach an electric vibrator to the bottom of the doors and keep them sprayed w/ PB blaster. If this works, I'll post it.

 

My rear drivers side door continually has the same issue, it was the latching rocker on the handle that loosens up and wont pull on the latch rods. If you unsrew the torq head screws in the outer latch, you can wiggle the latch out, and get access at the two rods, one from the top and one from the bottom. The two rods are threaded on the end, but only clip in the door latch, so they pop right out. Pull on them and that should unlatch the latches. You might still have to spray the latches and get at them with a small pry bar or screw drive to get them to actually pop loose if they havent been used in a while. After 4 or 5 times of messing with the dang rocker arm on the latch, I bought the superduty locktite and tried that. So far so good but time will tell.

Hmmm... mine won't latch on the bottom of the drivers side. I haven't tried to fix it yet.... I guess it's not as irritating as a latch that won't open.
