radio problems

when i bought my truck had an aftermarket radio in it that worked but no sound came out of the speakers, so i pulled the radio out and the blue wire (which goes to the factory infinity amp) was unhook so i hooked it up and it blew the I.O.D. fuse. I called the local dodge dealer and they said that will happen because the factory infinity amps dont work well with aftermarket radios and i would have to get new speakers to make it work. Is the true? Has anybody else had to replace the speakers when putting an aftermarket radio in a truck with a factory infinity system? Any help would be great. Thanks

No problem when I changed out the radio in my 1997 the first of the year. I did use pig tails that were made up for the replacement. They ran about $25.00 but it made it a very quick job, everything just snapped together.
