Question about A/C- Its that time of year I guess...
I have a 1997 CTD. The A/C used to work intermittently about 3 years ago. I had a shop evacuate the system, refill, and install dye. System remained full and no leaks were found.
Currently A/C doesn't seem to work at all. When turned on I can hear the compressor clutch kicking on and off approximately every 30seconds. One line that runs from the condenser to the cab appears to get very cold while the other line is quite hot. However no cool air comes out inside the cab.
1) Which hose is which (high vs low)
2) How would I go about diagnosing this myself?
3) Do I need a set of gauges, and can I figure this out myself?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Low is the one over by the battery. You need to get a FSM from Genos,
35 bucks will be the best you have ever spent.

Gauges are required, you don't need top of the line, but better than a 9.95 single gauge charge line. I had a really good set back in the R12 days, but since I only play with my stuff now, I just bought a 50 dollar set of MasterCool ones at AZ for 50 bucks or so, been satisfied so far.
