Question?

I have a 99 2wd CTD with 188k on the truck. Yesterday I was getting off of the interstate and as I approached the stop sign the truck went dead. It started right back up and drove without a problem. Today I noticed that the tranny was shifting late (not all of the time) sometimes. Any ideas? BTW, the truck is stock and auto.

Thanks!

Try the key trick on off on off on never starting and watch the odometer window for codes P- or ----- P-done. Doesn't normally work with 99's but worth a shot. If that doesn't work take it to your favorite parts store and have the codes pulled and let us know.

Welcome BTW and fill out your sig, top left User CP so we always know what you have engine 12/24v, tranny mods etc.

Good luck

Now the truck won't shift out of first gear. Made for a long 5 mile ride home! TPS? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like you may be in for a tranny rebuild. Your tranny probably did not down shift when you came top the stop sign and now it wont shift.
