Post Pricing for a mint 99 with 33,000 on the clock?

Hey fellas, my longtime neighbor might want to get rid of his 99 Turbo Cummins 24V Laramie 4x4
4-door with only 33,000 on the dial>the truck really is in showroom condition.
*Some might recall...this is the same neighbor I've always helped with his truck in the past...brakes,oil changes, new lift and IP pump etc.
What's a good number for such a low mileage (mint) Dodge Diesel?
Thanks for any feedback.

PS* sorry about posting this on the 12vThread...it is a 24V

Have you tried Kelly Blue Book? I would think it should go for around 14K to 16K. But then, I haven't been looking for one since I got mine.

I can only answer to the truck I bought. It's a '99 CTD, Auto, Quad Cab, Laramie SLT, 4x4 with 106,000 miles (when purchased in Aug '07). It needed some TLC, but I got it for $8,700.

I made the correction in the 12v section...it (is) a 1999 24v Turbo Cummins.

I would say at least 16k if its that mint. Mine was 15k with a lot of extras, ended up spending a good bit after 6 months to put in new IP and LP though($2500),everything in my sig. except the juice. Had 96000 miles.

I paid 15900 for my 99 1 ton 4x4 flatbed per my sig.

A friend just paid around 8 or 9 for a mint 97 12v 4x4

You got a lemon bud!

I bought my 98.5 24 valve, 5spd, longbed, quadcab w/paint matched canopy, and 206k mi for $9200. I got a great deal on it in my opinion. I think I could sell it right now for close to $13k.

That said, I notice that Oregon has some of the HIGHEST CTD prices in the nation. There are people selling 1st gens for over $12k still!

I'd say that 99 with 33k mi is easily worth $16k or more. Probably closer to $17k or $18k . . . . . . . . in oregon. 33k mi is nearly new.

Holy crap, I'd cream myself if I could pick up a deal like that! There must be no market whatsoever for CTD in KY!

That thing books out over $17k on nada. As much as $19.8k in pristine condition.

If he has any clue what its worth you'd be lucky to get it for under $16k.

Nope huge market in KY. You just have to know where to look. A truck is a truck and is only worth how much you want to pay. My truck 01 here in KY would call for 13,500 to 15,000 at a dealer. I wasn't paying that much. So I found the 01' in Texas for 10,500. Overnight trip to get it and I didn't pay a huge premium here in KY.

You are right! Knowing where to look is the key. I'd drive across multiple states or even fly half way across the states for a deal like that. I have actually driven 12 hours to pick up a car that was the right price.

I spend 1 to 2 hours per day cruising craigslist for Samurais, CTDs, Toyota 4x4s and Hondas all over the Northwest looking for those really great deals. When they happen, I hook up the car hauler to the Dodge and drive 9 hours to Spokane or 12 hours to Boise if I have to. Go where the deals are!

Anyway, I still think 33k on that truck is worth over $16k!

I tend to agree. But the only thing to about a truck that hasn't been used that much that is that is getting older is I would worry about dry rot from non-use. If it goes from not being used to being used everyday I would be concerned about issues popping up.

IMHO

Must be nice being able to get decent deals. Looking on autotrader in Canada, Alberta has high prices, and BC and Saskatchewan is even higher. I've seen 98 12'vs for $25k with 250k on them. Seen the same ones in the US for a third of that.

Is there any problem with exporting a truck from the US into Canada??
I know it's a PITA trying to get one into Mexico. If it's no big deal, then the Canadian buyers could slip across the border to buy.
