opinions about Taylor Diesel Group

Hello, I am shopping for a new VP44 for my truck and there is a diesel shop not to terribly far from me that will sell me a rebuilt one for $1055 + core. They say they are a Bosch certified re-builder, so I assume that means they have the 815 test/flow bench from Bosch to tune these pumps right.

I am asking to see if anybody on here has an opinion of these guys? Anybody ever bought from them? Good/bad experiance?

here is their website:

http://www.dieselpage.com/TDStPete.html

I am still troubleshooting the truck and am hoping I do not have to plunk down a grand for a new injection pump, but if I have to I want to try and educate myself as best I can. I have found a rebuilt VP44 for slightly less $$ online from MFWI for $994, but I would prefer to buy local if I could and deal with somebody face-to-face for a part this expensive

Thanks for any help!

When I needed the last VP44 I went with MWFI and they were great to deal with.

thanks Dan! I might go with them. I really do prefer to buy it over-the-counter just in case there are any problems I can deal with somebody directly instead of phone and emails.

This company, Taylor diesel group, I believe used to have a different name. Also, they have several facilities spread out in different states. I believe their VP44 rebuilding site is in Texas.

Find out if they replace all the internals, sleeves etc. and what warranty they offer.

I agree over the counter is nice, but when I need to do mine I am considering bluechipdiesel regarding the vp44.
