Question Oil, Temp and tach gauges stopped working

I've looked through old threads on gauge problems, but my problem doesn't quite fit (as far as I can tell). I have a 95 ctd canadian model (everything metric except for the speedo (mph large, kph small) along with early DRL (daytime running lights) and I've had some lighting issues and found some bad wiring, but generally everything (except the kdp) has been ok so far (180K miles). One night after finding the last problem with the tail/brake light and after driving for a couple of hours the tach, oil pressure and water temp gauges decided they had enough of me and stopped working. The voltmeter works fine and the alternator appears to be charging and it does warm up and there is oil pressure. I've thought the crank sensor may be part of the issue, but it does not explain the other gauges - any ideas? thanks, Pat

All these functions have the pcm in common.
If you have removed the pcm connector and used a voltmeter probe in the female connectors you may have enlarged them making poor contact.

Way to lazy for that

I'm pretty sure the pcm has not been disconnected since I've owned it, but it makes sense - is there any fuse that may affect this? When I first started having drl problems, the dealer said there was a drl module, but I did not find one - is this part of the pcm?

thanks, Pat

The DTL module is separate from the PCM and is on the driver's side fender. PCM is behind the airbox.
In my years of chasing down electrical problems 95% of the time they are caused by someone working on the truck. Either they unplug, short or hook something up wrong.
Best first step is to examine all the areas where work was down before things started failing.
I don't believe there is any one fuse that protects all the things you have going wrong.
