Arghh, so I finally fixed the leaking power steering/vacuem pump seal only to find a worse oil leak. It appears to be either at the oil pressure sensor or else from behind the ECM. Cant really see in there very well. I would think it is from the sensor but I dont know if there is anything else that could be leaking from behind the ECM. I could not fit any tool that I have over the sensor to check if it is screwed in tight to the block. Does anyone know what size socket I would need and has anyone had this problem? The truck is a 2001 with 250000 mi. The oil pretty much pours out when I shut the truck off to where there is a good size puddle.

 

removed the ECM, found a crack in the head gasket. that is where the oil is leaking from. crap.

You leak sounds pretty bad. I didn't know that these trucks didn't leak... but there's a difference between weeping, drips and puddles.

 

The leak is bad, I cant park at customers homes and leave an oil slick. Parked the 01, took the Lance camper off my 93 dually and driving that for work. Reading my Haynes manual, its a boatload of work to remove the head. and then with 250000 + miles, do I do the valves at that point? Time and money both. Time to break out the JB weld, it fixes everything. wishful thinking.
