Odometer Quit Working!

Hey guys...my Odometer quit working on me a couple weeks back, and I just called the dealer.

They have no idea what I actually need to fix it...speedo works, just not the odometer.

Dealer told me to figure out whether I needed the speedometer or the Printed circuit board, I told them to ask the service manager THAT I JUST TALKED TO!!!

My dealer usually does a good job, not this time .

Any help in getting this thing fixed guys??

Thanks,
Chris

Thanx to modern technology it maybe a pain. It could be the speedo itself or the circuit board, only way to tell is to have both tested....

You say the Speedometer works fine - so the censor is working ok then...

maybe just a loose wire?

I know everyone want to know the mileage of one of these - hey I do as well!!

But in Illinois if the vechile is over 10 years old they mark the title with "Not Required" in the mileage section, guess there have just been too many problems with rollback and replacements. Might check to see what your state's laws are; it may not be worth the money to fix it...

This happened with my dads rig,

well his old rig, odometer died at 62K, all he did was go by the auxilary and add miles to his total, he had it in writing, sold the truck no problem with 96K... I thought these thing were manual as well on the odometer, i didnt think they had any electronic gizmos to them.. guess i learned somethin new today....

By auxilary you mean the trip meter right...no worky there either.

Everything in the dash of these trucks is electronic...just two plugs in the back of the dash!!

I need to call them back today and see if they did any good.

Thanks for the help,
Chris
