ODD Noise under Dash?

I am developing an odd noise under my dash that sounds like fluid flowing at a high pressure? have had no other symptoms at all? anyone else had this happen?

Thanx

I've seen head gasket leaks do this when compressed air is introduced into the cooling system. You can hear it going though the heater core.
The only other thing you could have that may sound like something flowing under the dash is a slight vacuum leak.

Brookings, nice place!

I've a water flowing noise in my Mom's 1996 Dodge... I heard there is a water restrictor in the line to slow the flow of water...

It's normal as far as I conserned...Been there since the day we bought that truck...

Sounds like you have Air in the coolant line. Buddy of mine had that same noise, ended up being the gasket around the thermostat housing. It sounded like it was coming through the passanger side air vents.

My 96 does it at startup but only sometimes. I do have a mystery coolant leak that comes and goes so air in the coolant is what I suspect on mine. If it is heater core related the sound will come from the passenger side footwell, if it is under the driver side I would suspect a vacuum leak - maybe a vent vacuum actuator with a split in it.

Try the different vent combinations and see if it comes and goes. Now that I think about it I have had a leaking pushrod seal in a power brake booster give me the same kind of noise on a gas motor - not enough leak that the vacuum went away on braking but enough to barely hear.

Let us know if you find the culprit.

Trust me, there are worse things... like leaving the oil cap off at a truck stop and not finding it out untill 300 miles later. If you can picture 1 gallon of oil sprayed all over the engine compartment. Hmmmm, thought I smelled something

I was just there in early February. We went up to Coos Bay to play in the dunes! Gorgeous coastal town. I'm considering moving there in a couple years.

I'll be back after the '06 New Year!
