hello all. I am very new to this site but have injoyed reading all I can to learn all I can about this wonderful truck. I lost mine on saterday in the ice storm we had here in georgia. I lost controle on some Ice and Hit a oak tree head on about 45 mph. I broke some ribs and a finger and my nose. My pride and joy is totaled. I will try and find another soon, It took forever to find this one. I have to say that this truck saved my life. What a geat truck.

Glad that it wasn't worse, trucks can be replaced, bodies can't.

buy it back from insurance and use the parts to build a crew cab or just to have as spares!

Sorry to hear your misfortune. Like forrest stated get it back if it is reasonable, you can part it out for more than you pay for it. Goodluck and Heal up....Rick

block cracked, turbo ripped from motor, tranny cracked (main case). front dif bent, rear dif pinion driven through case. no usable parts.bed apears to be unhurt

I had a motorcycle wreck over 2 yrs ago with 6 broken ribs & a puncured lung so I can feel your pain. If you have to sneeze grab a pillow & hug it tight.

Sorry for your misfortune. You are very lucky and be grateful it was not worse. Your truck did it's job (saving you).

Your truck can be replaced, you can not be. In my profession, I see all to often the end result. It is sad. Especially when it can be prevented. I'm sure yours could not be.

Spend the recovery time shopping for another truck. The right one will jump out at you, just don't be in a hurry to jump on the first one.

As others have said, thank God you're OK and the truck DID do it's job protecting you!

That's the one bad thing about the south,,,, ICE! Up north we always got more snow than ice. Snow can be delt with within reason. Once you hit ice, there's nothing you can do except pray.

When ever we get "any" icey road conditions here in VA, I just don't go out! I told my job the same thing. I'd rather be docked the days pay rather than being flipped over in a ditch somewhere. Too many narrow, hilly winding roads with no shoulders!

Take care of your self and a prayer has been sent for a quick recovery!!!!!!!!!

Glad to have you with us and very glad you're going to be all right!
That’s one of the things I love about these trucks they are big, heavy, and safe.
Good luck on finding another truck. Be patient, take your time, the right truck for you is out there.

I wanted to say thanks for all of the kind words. Iam feeling mutch better at this time. I have good days and bad days. My kidneys have just about quit hurting and my bruises are all but gone. My ribbs and finger are another story. I have already started the hunt for a new truck but it will take time to find my truck. I have found alot of autos and 5 speeds, but I will hold out for a six speed. What do you guys think of the newer ones ie quieter CTD. are they just as easy to step up? I do like the rattle of the older ones. I am glad i did not install all of my goodies yet. Might have to sell them if I get a newer one.
