Where else on an '01 truck is the VIN number stamped? Need to get a vin inspection on a company truck we sold and the tag is missing off of the dash plate. I know it has to be stamped somewhere else. Thanks.

I just happen to know this......the vin tag placement on the dash changed. But the windshields are interchangable. I had my windshield changed and after the guy got done, I noticed I couldnt see the vin anymore. The cut out in the windshield was n the wrong spot. About 4 inches off or so, I think.

Anyways, it might be there, and just have the wrong year windshield in it.

It may be an issue for the buyer to register it - I know in some states that the vin number must be visible - it is in NY.

Mine is stamped on the frame, pass side, just behind the cross member for the transfer case.
