No FLow After R&R Fuel Tank

The fuel gauge on my 2001 Ram 2500 Diesel was indicating full all the time. It was suggested that I remove the tank and replace the sender. I did remove the tank, but checking the sender with an ohmmeter it seemed to be OK. So I reinstalled the tank, put ten gallons of fuel and turned the key on. The gauge is actually showing about 10 gallons in it. I was told to turn the key on and let the pump run for 20 seconds while letting air out of the bleeder valve. When I turn the key on I don't hear a pump running and I get nothing out of the bleeder. So what do I do now? Do I need to replace the big unit everything hooks to inside the tank. I am in serious need of getting this truck back on the road. Appreciate any help. Thanks

I'm assuming you have the in-tank pump. If so, check all the connections at the top of the tank to make sure you're still getting power to the pump.

I totally forgot that I needed to "bump" the starter to get the pump to run-which it does. With dealing with the other problems we were having , finally determined that the module that goes into the top fuel tank needs replacement and I have ordered the part. While looking at the area where the tank is installed I noticed that the two lines (one 3/8" and one 5/16") were kinked. I tried to "unkink" them, but didn't look like it worked. They are a flexible, appears to be thin, tube that connects from the metal lines in the body to the tank. It would appear to be easiest to just replace them with new hoses and good clamps. Has anybody done this and had good results?
