No blow through dash vents
I know this may sound stupid, but has anyone else had a problem with the blower blowing only through the floor vent? The A/C works fine (freezes my right foot), but whatever flap moves the air flow from the floor vent to the dash outlets and to the defrost outlets isn't working. I was sort of hoping that someone here could tell me a fix without having to pull out the whole dash and start hunting. Thanks in advance for any pointers!

two flap motors
I looked above the throttle pedel and there are two flap motors. One has a yellow line to it. If I pull down on the lever coming out of it I get the air through the dash vents where I want it. There is another one to the right (passenger side) of that motor that has a red line going to it. If I pull the red line off, I can feel a vacuum from that motor. If I pull the yellow line off, I do not feel a vacuum anywhere.

I had the exact same problem on my '97. THis problem led me to this board too!! It took me like 1 week to get an answer to my post too! but that was back when we only had 145 members.
I went down to my local dodge *******, and bought the little vacuum actuator that controls the dash vents. Swapped it out, and no problems.
I did the same as you. I could reach under the dash and pull the lever down, and it would hold. But the daiphram had a hole in it, and could not pull it down.
good luck!

I had the same problem. The control was leaking and did not have enough seal to pull it but if you pulled it manually it would hold. Bought and replaced it. Easy job not an inexpensive part.
