New Leather Seats

Anyone know where I can get a factory leather seat to replace the cloth one in my 02 , its probably to expensive but if anyone knows where I can look to get a deal it would be nice. Is the leather pretty tough if its not theres no need of me getting one . Anyone replaced one before? Thanks

If you want the real McCoys, I saw a set on this site or the TDR's site in the classifieds. Pricey though, I think they were around $1500... Sixpack

Well, guess I will have to stick with cloth for awhile I just thought the leather would clean better and feel nice. I just didnt know what to expect on price figured they would be high thanks for the help I think I'll save my money for some injectors and fuel box unless wife wants to get me a seat for Bday.

Re:New Leather Seats

Try Cabellas. A year or so ago I saw a complete new seat/console set up in leather. I think the price was around $6-700. Cabellas has a large selection, even it's own truck speciality catalog, of truck accessories.
warden

The factory leather seats are junk! Mines already falling apart. Go after market!

Re:New Leather Seats

Try a junk yard: http://www.car-part.com
And I think that leather seats are supposed to outlast other materials about 10x, if properly maintained.
Properly maintained, I believe, means using special leather cleaner on them and some other kinds of chemicals (saddle soap?) to keep the leather pliable so it doesn't crack.

If anyone now more about leather seat care, I'd be interested in that.

Chris

Re:New Leather Seats

I used the Katzkin on mine have been on since new have 74k on them and standing up very well. Will tell you that you should reinforce outer edge og drivers side foam to prevent it from breaking down foam. I took when I had seat cover off and pulled up on edge of seat and gluded a piece of burlap to foam and this prevents it from breaking down. I used to work for an upholstery shop and we had to do this to repair many seats and repair factory seat covers.
Denny

Re:New Leather Seats

I have 172,000 on mine and I am big and heavy. The seats are perfect except for the foam is starting to collapse on the drivers side. My vote for comfort is the stock cloth for long trips. I too wanted the leather but it would not have lasted as good as the cloth.
