this morning my truck wouldn’t start so I took my alternator down to Auto Zone and got it checked its dead so I am getting ready to plow this winter and I want to get a beefed up alternator like maybe a 200 amp what do you all suggest for brands and places to get it

I just received new alternator brushes and a shut down solenoid boot from them I also have the starter contacts and fuel shut off relay.

i might do that for now but i still want to try and get a 200 amp alternator for plowing and running extra lights and sterio amps

 

I`m not sure about 2nd gen`s but here is a nice alt upgrade for a 1st gen. The mountings look the same, so maybe it`d work for you?

Don't forget to check / change the main fuse after your upgrade... Other than that it will blow... Then you will be blaming the alternator or something else...
