Is my air conditioner working right?
It cools just fine, but my quesiton is about the two different setting for A/C on the switch. When I switch it to the Max setting I hear this big sucking sound down below the dash on the passenger side. I was told that on the max setting the A/C unit pulls air in from inside the cab and the other setting pulls in from outside. Is this right? And should I be hearing this noise? It's really only noticable on the top two fan settings.

Yeah... totally normal for the loud sucking noise on the two high settings...
The MAX A/C setting is the only setting that pulls from the inside the cab... The rest of the settings pull from outside...

I run mine on "Max" all of the time. If you live in a dusty environment, the outside air running thru the (is it) condensor fins will clog them up, block the air flow, and stop working. I saw a picture of one a few years ago after a guy took one out if his Ram. To get it out, required a complete teardown of the dash; a real big job.
