Maybe not so sad...
Well, body shop got back to me today and they're fixing it. Said the motor seems fine, but will be getting new tranny, drive train, 4x4, supension, basically all new front end and they swore up and down that it'll be "better than new" (ok...). Saves me the insurance hassle but yikes, what next. Do sudden impacts kill injector pumps? I guess I'll just have to pay attention to every creak and groan for a while.

I'm assuming you put the drivetrain from a wrecked '02 into an '99 Chasis?? So you must have a salvage title of some sort?
What happened to the truck this time?? That sucks, I hope they get it fixed right for you.

What happened originally was '02 cab was caved in a rollover, uninsured farm truck. Took '99 body
off another truck, put on '02 and all is good, parted/salvaged rest of '99 and '02 body. (At least that's the story I got so who knows) but trucks and vins checked out so no 'real accident' damage on either part. My previous post was titled "Sad days..." where my wife got t-boned in front drivers wheel, so now there is 'real' damage
