lock switch and key fob

lock switch and key fob
Title says it all. The drivers side door lock switch quit, Dodge wants $87! Any sources outside of a wrecking yard? Also sent my key fob through the wash, a good source for replacement? I looked online, but couldn't find the switch, and there are a few options for fobs, is there a better one? Thanks, Seth

I got my fobs online, and was really disappointed. They were carefully presented to fool you into thinking they were selling new fobs but they were BEAT UP.
I more carefully read the website and saw no mention of new or used. Just a heads up.
Pretty sure (been a while) you can make the onboard brain accept new fobs if you have one working one, but otherwise the dealer needs to plug in to make it accept new fobs.
As to the door switch, I'd be tempted to pull the switch and clean it with a electronics cleaner if trying to save a few sheckles. Pulling the door cover you'll probably wreck a few "christmas tree" fasteners, but the parts store will probably have piles of them in stock-they are a pretty common type.

Rinse your fob off in cold distilled water and let thouroghly dry, put new batteries in and see if it works.
Unless you are getting brand new dodge/chrysler fobs from on line forget it.
Careful pulling the door panel, the christmas tree clips are easy to replace but broken attachment points aren't in abs plastic
