leveling Kit
I have just ordered a leveling kit for my truck. has anyone ever put one on. All the kit is, is a 1.5inch coil spring spacer made out of polyurethane. Should of I gotten steel spacers? Is it very difficult to install? Any suggestions or comments?

Re:leveling Kit
On 4x4. Disconnect shocks & shock tower and stablizer bar. Remove shocks.Jack up truck frame, keep close eye on flexable brake lines, may have to disconnect.I did not.Jack up truck frame.Spring should come out easy.Drop shock tower ring.Install leveling kit. Spring will be tight back in.Lower truck.Measure space between fender and tire on both sides. If not equal, rotate springs a little at a time to raise or lower after jacking back up. Once both sides are level. might be nesessary to buy taller shocks so shock travel will be correct. you will know this if truck rides rough. I had to get new shocks. You will enjoy the new look of your truck.

Gotta tell you, National Tire & Wheel sells Skyjacker coil springs with a 2.5 inch lift -- they're cheaper than the Daystars & other poly or steel spacers, and they ride and handle better, too. An easier install, IMO. Just something to think about

GP

Re:leveling Kit
A friend of mine made my leveling kit out of steel it has worked good so far. I'm not sure what you guy's paid for yours but he built and installed mine for $200.00. I'm sure if all you want is the spacers it will be pretty cheap to get them sent to you. anyway just thought I would let you know.
oh and I'm typing in canadian bucks.

Has anyone tried the ones that Summit Racing sells? They seem like a good deal, pretty inexpensive. My first 2nd gen had a Rancho leveling kit when I bought it, the stock length shocks were too short. Get yourself some shocks for a 2 inch lift since you've got them out anyway.

John

Glad to see another New Yorker, Dan. I actually haven't picked up my truck yet, as long as the money hits the dealers account I'll be getting it tomorrow.

John

Re:leveling Kit
Well guys I got the leveling kit installed today. I did not use the polyurethane ones because I had previously order the steel ones from jc whitney and the call and said they were on back order or I told them to cancel them. Then I order the polyurethane one off another website and they sent my inch and a half spacer for a 2wd drive cummins. Then the day after i got the steels ones in from jc w and now they are installed on my truck. Installation was not to bad, i did have to take my sway bar loose and still fight with them because the trailling arms held the axle up. But they are on now and the truck looks much better. Maybe I can get a picture put up here soon. Thanks for the help! Wes
