leaf spring conversion

I know there would be some downsides to a conversion to a leaf spring setup, but has anyone ever taken on a complete garage build of the front end.
I am just tired of throwing parts at the front end every season.
I know the first consideration would be, am i installing them all to begin with.
And to take away that concern, Ive had a full time mchanic work with me on 2 of the major front end rebuilds ive taken on. At any rate, jsut wondering, is there a better way, one that will last longer, and put an end to all the front end clunks and wandering.
